About Us
The Conover Farmers Market will provide Catawba Valley with the best locally grown and produced products. A different approach to other markets, the Conover Farmers Market will focus on vendors providing products 'from the farm to the fork.' All vendors complete a simple application process, including an on site visit, and approval of  the Board of Directors.  Produce is available in season and grown by our vendors in a 125 miles radius of the market!  Fresh, flavorful summer fruits and vegetables  have arrived and we appreciate our community understanding  the harvest time frame. God bless the beautiful weather and North Carolina's fertile soil!
Conover Farmer's Market is a member of Foothills Fresh; a division of the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Office. For more info about Foothills Fresh CLICK HERE.
Market History
The Conover Farmers Market was the two year vision of 2 local ladies from Conover who wanted a place to buy goods grown and produced locally direct from the growers. They also envisioned a new way to reach out to their community to educate all of the importance of local farming and give community groups another venue for fund raising. The market is run by the farmers for the benefit of the farmers and Catawba County residents. There are currently 30 vendor members ready to serve you throughout the season. Any local grower can become part of the market through a simple application process and a visit from the market.
The 2010 farmers market season will reopen April 24th with more vendors and more variety.
Customer/Vendor Testimonials

The market is just wonderful for Conover. We enjoy visiting and buying the great vegetables. This week there was a dried lavendar lady and I couldn't help but buy this eye pouch for sweet aromas of my favorite herb.
    -Paula Brown

'This market is really a pleasure to come to. You got lots of produce here and a good mix of other vendors, its local and it's true to the farmers market theme of straight from the farm.'
                                                 -Chris Authurs

'I am so pleased that we have the Conover Market with lots of local fruit and vegetable vendors. Some folks don't understand that North Carolina tomatoes aren't in season in May or watermelon in June. I am willing to wait for their season to come about naturally because I realize how vital our local farmers and their crops are to us. I want to eat locally!'
                                                    - Paula Brown

                                           - Joann Harper

' I like this new Conover Market idea of onlyoffering locally grown produce or personally made crafts and baked goods from neighborhood vendors. You get a better quality of offerings. And as a vendor, your hard work is appreciated.'
                                 - Susan Cline Hughes

'I'm really happy at the turnout and know that my sweet potatoes will all be sold before end of this opening day. This will be a great year at  Conover Farmers Market, if the first day is any judge of success. Lots of people kept coming  by.'
                                - Carroll Heavner

"I am so glad this market prides itself on providing only locally grown produce and hand made goods. No imported strawberries here!"
                               - B. Roy Hill

I'm very excited about joining the Conover Farmers Market. Other markets are letting vendors buy vegetables and resell them at the market. That is not what  a farmers market should be.
                              - Marvin Wilfong

"My father gardened all his life and because of him I know how good quality vegetables are suppose to taste. I am excited to have found local farmers to provide that. I look forward to Saturdays at the Conover Farmers Market!"
